books1Hey Reading Fans…The Friends of the Petaluma Library help fill the budgetary gaps that our library faces as well as sponsors such great events such as the “U.C. Master Gardeners Series (monthly programs on a variety of gardening topics), periodic art exhibits, book discussions, and many other great programs. Their main source of fundraising is their tri-anual booksale.

stack of booksThis books sale is currently in full swing and if you haven’t been, you should give it a shop. It started today at 4pm (until 8pm) and continues Thur & Fri (Aug 14-15) from 10am-5pm. Books are sold by the inch; stack ’em up and pay ONLY $1 per inch of books!!! (The stack of books in the picture to the right would probably only run you about $5.)

Saturday, August 16 is “Deal Day” with books being half price from 10am-1:50pm follow but the “Bag Sale” which runs from 2-4pm. During the “Bag Sale” you are invited to fill as many bags (provided by Trader Joes) as you want with books and only pay $2 PER BAG!!!

Folks, this is not only a great fundraiser but is also a fantastic way to avoid library late fees. For the price of just one of my late library books I can buy a whole stack, read them at my leisure…and if I so choose, donate them back to the library for them to sell again.

They have old books too!Books

See you there…and bring your kids!!! For a couple of bucks they can go home with 5…10…15 books, all depending on how many inches thick they are.  (Although there are kids books at this sale, there is always a kids books only sale the week prior to this sale.)

The next kids only sale will be the week of November 10th with the adult sale the following week.  What a great place to find holiday gifts!!!  (I’ll the exact dates when we get closer to the November sale.)
